• DCI-P3 is a colour gamut for digital cinema, a colour gamut standard that is dominated by the human visual experience, matching as closely as possible the full range of colours that can be shown in a film scene.

• DCI-P3 displays reproduce greens and reds better and more sharply, showing the true colours that the human eye can see.

• DCI-P3-equipped monitors have better colour performance, displaying colours closer to the colour gamut acceptable to our human eyes, allowing designers to mix richer colours and gamers to experience more realistic colour effects.

• In addition only a wide colour gamut playback device can fidelity play 4K video. In order to meet the minimum standards for UHD (Ultra High Definition devices), a display should be able to cover at least 90% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

• Wide gamut displays with HDR technology can show richer colour levels.
